White men still hold the vast majority of political, economic and social power. Until 60 years ago, they held all of it. That doesn't let white women completely off the hook, but it means that white men are still in a different position of privilege and also a unique position to impact change. If they are claiming they care about that, but also don't seem to have a good grasp of how inequality actually works, that's a problem - which is what this story is about. It's about my personal experiences with that. Also, this story is in part about progressive white dudes who don't understand the struggles that women experience, and yet want to consider themselves progressive - and my personal experiences with that.
If speaking about that feels offensive to you, I don't really know what to say. As someone with a sociology background, I calls it as I sees it about our cultural dynamics and I talk about the things that happen to me in the way that I see fit and I will continue to do so.
