Why is that the metric of a "mature woman"? I'm confused. Is Joan Jett not a real mature woman because she never married or had children because she didn’t find the right person to do that with?
Music is highly personal and if this doesn't do it for you, that's fine, but 300 million people disagreed with you, just yesterday, nearly breaking Spotify.
I think this is her best album yet, in a string of very, very good work. I became a fan with her Covid collaborations with Aaron Dessner of The National - Folklore and Evermore. Much of this album sounds similar - not surprising since she collaborated on 15 songs with Dessner. There's literally a fuck-ton of storytelling taking place in this album. Swift is widely recognized as one of the greatest musical storytellers of our time and this album is no different. Not sure still what your beef is. Fortnight literally references all the other songs on the album (not just Florida) - besides being a kick-ass song all on its own. Did you not see the black dog walking around in the Fortnight video and notice that there’s a later track called The Black Dog?
Like I said before, if it's not your thing, that's OK, but you're not doing a great job of articulating why.
PS — I’m 59 and a lot of my friends of the same age feel similarly.
Edit:
