Women/mothers didn't create patriarchy, but they absolutely participate in upholding it. We wouldn't still have it if women didn't play a huge role. We're all steeped in and swim in the ocean of our cultural and gender indoctrination, often without even consciously realizing it. Becoming more conscious and trying to choose better is key, even if it comes with some pushback from family/religion/culture. If we're asking men to do that, women need to be doing it as well.
