WOMEN WERE LEGALLY AND FUNCTIONALLY KEPT OUT OF MILITARY SERVICE BY MEN. THEY HAD TO FIGHT TO GET THE CHANCE TO FIGHT and they still volunteered to do one of the most dangerous jobs of the war - and got nothing but sneering from the men for risking their lives in ways that the men in warm airplanes with navigational equipment and parachutes were not.

What part of that do you not comprehend?

Same goes for mining and a dozen other things that men have kept women from doing and then complained later that no women did these jobs. In the Middle Ages, women who did construction work were considered one level above prostitutes. Then they finally banned women from construction altogether.
