Women were second class citizens by law in the US just a mere 50 years ago. Until the past few years, they have been a tiny fraction of Congress. It's only been in the past 40 years or so that women have made any inroads into military leadership - and even then, it's just a relative few women. How exactly have women had any say about getting into wars or making decisions about conscription?
Women couldn't vote in Switzerland until 1971. It's an EXTREMELY patriarchal country. That's not exactly a good example of anything whatsoever.
