Word!! Things have improved some in the past 50-60 years but there's a lot that is still very, very problematic and deeply embedded in the cultural subconscious. To top it off is the percentage of men who scream "Stop trying to make men look bad" anytime a woman wants to discuss that. It's all part and parcel of a stratified dominance hierarchy system where we've all been messaged that if you don't "win" you "lose." Nobody wants to consider that there are win/win scenarios and that granting other people rights and equality doesn't take anything away from those who used to have more. All most people can see is that they need to get or stay ahead at other people's expense and they don't seem to even want to deprogram from that. I'm turning the bulk of my focus to reading about and learning how we can encourage going in that direction because man, we sure need to - for all our sakes.
