Words have a lot of personal connotations. I don’t think of white supremacists as guys burning a cross. I just think of it as a guy who thinks he’s better (supreme) to people who aren’t white. It’s part of what makes communication complicated because we don’t all have the exact same understanding of words. I was talking to someone yesterday about women who want to reclaim the word slut, and for me, there is no way to do that. It will always be associated with misogynistic connotations. But, if that works for them……

The only two emotions are love and fear. Everything else is an outcropping of those two, so I see contempt as a kind of fear. More words…….
