Wow, that was a new low from that guy. I know some people feel this way, but to actually be brazen enough to say it out loud like it was a defensible position?! Just wow!

I've been learning a lot about the origins of patriarchy the past couple of years, and what I learned is that when it became prevalent 6-9 thousand years ago, that's when all kinds of stratification began, racial, economic, social class, etc., as well as gender. Prior to that time, communities looked out for each other and shared resources as a survival tactic in an egalitarian setting. Patriarchy is at its core, a dominance hierarchy where certain people are ranked lower than others. No surprise, black women are at the very bottom of this traditional pyramid of power, but even so, I'm still gobsmacked by that guy's belief that this was a very rational and reasonable thing to say. 😮
