Yep, I've had a few good male doctors in the past but all the terrible docs I've had always been men. Now I won't go to them if I can help it. When I was pregnant, the practice I went to had one woman doctor (who I loved) and one man. Near to my due date, I was 3 pounds over the recommended weight gain for someone in my stage of pregnancy, and this yahoo had to bring up my weight. I was good and pissed but also a lot more timid than I am now so I just took it.
I've got Hashimoto's as well, and it's taken a long time to get me on the right medication, but at least my female doctor is willing to listen to me, work with me, and take into account what I have to say instead of talking over me. I really have no patience for someone who won't do that at this stage of my life. I'm sorry that you don't have more choice about who your medical provider is. That's the pits.
