Yes, as noted in the OP, feminism is focused on women because we are not yet remotely equal. But should that ever occur, then we'd need to shift to a more Star Trek outlook. The point of this story is not to discount the importance of a movement focused primarily on the rights and lives of women, but to help those who tend to freak out at the idea of that to realize it's not so far off from something that they enjoy and support - Star Trek.
