Yes! Poly means many and amory means love = many loves, something that the author noted in the OP. Swinging is primarily about sex, but that's not the same thing as polyamory - and even then, most swingers tend to have greater levels of respect, honoring of consent, wearing condoms, etc., than a whole lot of monogamous pairings - 30-50% of which are not being faithful, not being honest, not engaging in safer sex, etc.
