Yes, there is some real polarization. I just support things that don't make it worse. You are correct that the "Blue wave" never materialized and there were plenty of people who didn't vote for Trump who otherwise voted Republican. Although incumbents do tend to have an electoral advantage, people seem to be dissatisfied with whomever they put in the House the last time, and tends to be more ready to vote them out the next time around - or so it seems. And, at the same time, Georgia and Arizona had enough votes for the Democratic candidate to garner the EC votes for the first time in a very long time. Politics is a game that I don't particularly like, but it is still mildly interesting.
