All animals, and particularly all mammals have elaborate systems for avoiding lethal contact, except in very rare and specific instances. Humans do as well, but they are also the best at overriding those peace-keeping mechanisms. Even so, we know that war is not "natural" because it takes a lot of indoctrination to get people to do it, and even then, they often avoid trying to kill each other. When they do do it, most suffer because of that - indicating that war is maladaptive on an evolutionary level, so it makes me a bit crazy when people talk about war as natural and just what humans do.

The mobile crematoriums are certainly telling about just how much the few use their power to advance their own interests at the expense of the many. War is indeed a form of madness - not a "normal" human pursuit.
