Yes, this outlook denies women their humanity as well as their own sexuality and sets them up as gatekeepers rather than as partners in a mutually enjoyable endeavor. And then there's the whole aspect of trying to obtain consent - no matter what you have to do to obtain it - wheedle, exert pressure, badger the woman. Duress is considered something that negates consent in law, but not in Western mating practices. 🙄 It definitely all needs an overhaul and a shift from the "what can I get" mentality.
