You and the Fox News retrograde types seem to have blocked out the historical reality that not only did the "idealized 1950s" drive many, many women to need gin and "mother's little helper" prescriptions in order to cope, that time period also directly spawned the women's movement and the rise of second wave feminism. Making it sound like most women were blissfully happy and mean old feminists brainwashed them away from it is just effing delusional.
