You are absolutely correct that it can't come from women - but what I envision is essentially just being a good human being, with all the best elements that are sometimes ascribed to men (but which are truly universal) such as integrity, honesty, standing up for those who are weaker, doing what is right, even if it's hard, confidence that comes from knowing who you really are (rather than from measuring yourself against others) - think of John Wayne without the racism and the misogyny. 😛
But part of the issue with creating a new "box" for men is that it's still a box - one that not all men will fit well into. We're all a blend of Yin and Yang traits in completely individual ways. Donald Trump. RuPaul, Pee Wee Herman, and Mikhail Baryishnikov are all men - they don't have a whole lot in common other than a Y chromosome. Multiply that by infinity and you've got what it means to be a man. Go outside the West, and that number only continues to increase. It would be a whole lot better if more men just focused on being themselves and being the kindest, most pro-social version of that they can be.
