You are an atypical case. For regular guys, allowing themselves to be shoved into the restrictive box of acceptable masculine norms is demonstrably harmful to both them and to society.

Ideally, everyone should have good self control and not unleash their emotions on others in a punative way. I get that as a man with a disability this is more challenging for you, but for most other people, including most other men, the only two options are not On or Off. And, according to 40 years of research, most of it done by men, society demanding that men repress all difficult emotions other than anger has harmed them both psychologically and emotionally. It leads to physical issues as well.
