Dave Murray, you are confusing the Federal government with the office of the President. We have checks and balances for a reason and the Congress has significant power over what the President is able to accomplish.
There is very little that the President can do without the consent and approval of Congress -something that is being widely discussed right now because a President Biden (if he is elected) is going to have a hard time getting much done with a Republican Congress.
