You are morally indignant. So am I. I’ve never said that you shouldn’t be. Rape is reprehensible, which is what I wrote all about in my OP. It was reiterated in the vast majority of the paragraphs. But as a practical matter, that feeling isn’t what’s going to make things better for rape victims. And that is my point!

You initiated this conversation on my story and I haven’t said anything bullying or trolling. In fact, I’ve been nothing but civil to you, even in the face of your personal attacks on me. I’ve simply pointed out to you that believing that only bad men do bad things is a part of what contributed to guys like Bill Cosby needing 60 accusations to bring him down because everyone was so sure he wasn’t a bad guy.

It’s what’s making things worse right now for the woman that was raped and for millions of other survivors who are currently being triggered by this pointless White Hat/Black Hat war that is taking place in the media. There are no good guys and bad guys. There are human beings, some of whom make worse choices than others. If we looked at people like that, instead of in a convenient, feels-good binary, I don’t think it would take 60 accusations of wrongdoing to get action because people wouldn’t be so invested in whether someone is a hero or a villain, and they wouldn’t have to paint the victim as the villain in order to keep the binary status in place.

You don’t have to agree with that and that’s totally fine, but you keep coming back, attacking me, calling me disingenuous, and insinuating that I’m some kind of rape apologist. As long as you continue to do that, I will continue to calmly point out how that isn’t the case. What happens next is entirely up to you. If you don’t have time for this. I suggest you go do something else.

I'm a bitch, I'm a lover, I'm a child, I'm a mother, I'm a sinner, I'm a saint. I do not feel ashamed. I'm your hell, I'm your dream, I'm nothing in between.
