You aren't the first man to have expressed something similar, but yes, your question did, in part, prompt this story. All human beings need each other. To be needed as a man to provide and protect (because the culture stripped women of being able to do that for themselves) is a function of patriarchal identity. It's almost like a feudal system - I provide for you and protect you and in return you work for me and I control you. Men need to get past this because that world is rapidly eroding and women do not want it back. Evolve or go extinct, my friend. I'm afraid that is the name of the game and complaining that it's hard is not going to move the needle. I don't mean this in a snarky or a condescending way. I have some sympathy but at the same time, women have been branching out and evolving in really significant ways for more than 50 years. It's been incredibly difficult and that evolution continues. We aren't asking you to do anything that we aren't already doing.
