You can have your opinion on this but I stick with mine that saying "I like Asians" or "I like Black men" is dehumanizing because it reduces individual human beings down to a set of stereotypes. Unless you are saying, "I like almond shaped eyes" or I like a certain texture of hair, saying I like a whole category of people who in truth have a full range of traits and characteristics, is reductive and objectifying.

I read something the other day (which I can't find right now) written by a Black women talking about how often she is sexually stereotyped and how bad that feels. There were also quotes from people in the story I wrote that I linked you about how upsetting it is to be reduced to one quality, one of which was from Rachael Hope talking about the difference between a fat fetish and someone who likes her and the fact that she's fat just happens to be one of the characteristics that they find attractive.

So yes, from my perspective, people who are objectifying and dehumanizing others under guise of "this is my preference" should have it brought to their attention that it makes other people feel bad and it's not cool.
