You don't think that there is a deep seated cultural reflex to vilify and destroy women who give any indication that beloved men are less than perfect even though there are multiple examples of it? 🤣

We have a zero-sum social system where one person has to lose in order for the other person to win. One person gets a white hat and the other a black hat. This is childish and lacking in nuance, but it is how our culture(s) operate.

Our culture(s) also hate victims, because in a dominance hierarchy not being the dominant one is considered not only weakness, but carries with it moral implications. We desperately want to believe that bad things only happen to people who deserve it. That's why it took 60 women to bring Bill Cosby down. Victims, when they are believed, must either be "perfect" which Heard clearly is not, or there must be dozens of them. No doubt, both parties have issues and deserve some empathy, but this entire shitshow is an indictment of how our culture operates as a zero-sum dynamic meant to punish and shame those who have less power if they dare to complain about those who have more. This too is a central element of a dominance hierarchy, but that doesn't make it acceptable.
