You seem to think that if everyone just made the conscious choice to treat everyone like an individual it would instantly fix a lot of things. The problem is, only a tiny fraction of what we think of as thought is conscious. In order to shift the things that lurk in our collective unconscious, we have to shift the underlying social system.
There have been people measuring the magnitude of unconscious bias as their full-time job for literally decades. It's not like it's something we're not sure about.
If you are treating me in an unacceptable way, I very literally don't care how much of it is intentional and how much of it comes from unconscious bias - all I care about is how it is negatively affecting me and how soon before I can get you to stop.
On a side note, I have come to the conclusion that the way you and I go about thinking about things tends to be very different. No problem, everyone is an individual 😉. But I think that this explains a lot of why we sometimes seem to be less in agreement than we actually are.
