Your friend is silly. Companies with women CEOs and more women in leadership positions have better bottom lines than ones that don't. Also, women are not a monolith and neither are men. We're all individuals with different interests, aptitudes, and skills - some of those innate and some of those indoctrinated into us by a culture that imagines there is some kind of gender binary.

I agree with you that all humans should be viewed as equals and have the same opportunities to make their way in the world based on their individual aptitudes and interests, not artificial made up gender norms and boxes.
