Your opinion about something when it's counterfactual is not only pointless, it's problematic, particularly when it leads other people to make similar erroneous conclusions.

At this juncture, I'd just assume you leave me out of it entirely and not attribute anything you say to me or what you imagine my thoughts and beliefs are.
