You're just being curmudgeonly - and purposely misunderstanding what I very clearly said. "I think that authenticity is a key element of attraction. They'll find out soon enough if you aren't who you portray yourself to be."

But being a "nervous person" or a "shy person" is not an intrinsic part of anybody. It's learned behavior that is mutable. Being someone who doesn't know how to hold a good conversation is not an intrinsic trait and it is a skill that can be authentically acquired. If you think that every time you learn a new skill or gain greater confidence in some way that you've altered who you fundamentally are and betrayed your authentic self, you are even more silly than I previously believed.
