You're right, I don't stand for quietly watching someone kicking people who are down. I don't stand for making the lives of marginalized people worse for a laugh and a buck. You don't seem to grasp that being vehemently anti-trans is not a neutral stance. Real people's lives are affected by it in a negative way because he has a large platform and a well-known voice. He could easily not mention Trans people AT ALL. No one is asking him to be pro-trans.

Chapelle talking about white people and white society is punching up, if you will. It's talking about real societal power dynamics. And BTW, I'm white. Him talking about trans people as if they are not objectively THE most at risk and marginalized people in our culture is punching down - and I don't like people who punch down. It's weak and cowardly. And if you think that's just fine and dandy, it says an awful lot about you.

You're right, there is no point in saying more.

I'm a bitch, I'm a lover, I'm a child, I'm a mother, I'm a sinner, I'm a saint. I do not feel ashamed. I'm your hell, I'm your dream, I'm nothing in between.
