You’re welcome to think whatever you want. None of this is completely linear or clearly delineated — it’s a generalization. But Malcolm X famously said, “The most disrespected person in America is the black woman.”

Men of all races are supposed to be self-reliant, strong, stoic, in control, etc., as per patriarchal gender roles. They may not be given sympathy if they are not that, but that doesn’t reflect on power. Black men were allowed to vote a full 50 years before any women, even white women. Whether you consciously experience that benefit of being male or not, it’s still there. The dominance hierarchy (which is what patriarchy actually is) harms nearly everyone, except for a few at the apex of the pyramid of power. It may harm them in different ways, but even most white men are harmed by it.
