You've hit on a lot of good points here, and there certainly are tropes about men that women spread that aren't universal, but the fact of the matter is, we are still living in a culture that teaches boys from an early age that women exist for their pleasure and enjoyment and that dominating women is a fundamental aspect of being male. One example of this is that in hook-up culture of teens, boys expect to get at least a blow-job, but oral sex for the girl is not expected in return. That's something for a "real" relationship.
Until things like this are addressed in the culture, it's going to be hard to just say that both women and men need to equally do a better job of paddling in the same direction.
"Jock culture (or what the young men I met were more likely to call “bro culture”) is the dark underbelly of male-dominated enclaves, whether or not they formally involve athletics: all-boys’ schools, fraternity houses, Wall Street, Silicon Valley, Hollywood, the military. Even as they promote bonding, preaching honor and integrity, such groups condition guys to treat anyone who is not “on the team” (a category that may include any woman who is not a blood relative) as the enemy—bros before hos!—justifying hostility or antagonism toward them. Loyalty is unconditional, and masculinity asserted through sharing sexual exploits, misogynist language, and homophobia."
