You've made some good points here but also gone way past the overall survey which was the intent of this piece. I simply deal with way, way too many people who can only envision themselves as individuals who act independently of their culture and I was attemting to point out to them why that just isn't the case. Mentioning a feudal system was simply an easily recognizable analagy to try to further explain what a dominance hierarchy looks like.
I have no real investment in how Amazon or other companies that I don't work at arrange their corporate structure. Again, it's just a way to explain how a dominance-based hieararchy isn't the only option. I appreciate the depth of your knowledge but it's largely not relevant to the points I was trying to make.
